    Could Our Diets Be Causing More Allergies?

    Did you know that food allergies in children increased by approximately 50% between 1997 and 2011.

    The number of people with food allergies is growing rapidly and no one has yet to discover why this is. Sadly, the UK is in the top three in the world for the highest incident of allergy.

    The foods most likely to cause allergic reactions are:

    • milk
    • eggs
    • peanuts
    • soy
    • wheat
    • fish
    • shellfish

    I suspect there are a number of important factors that are contributing to the rise in allergies, such as the irrational fear of bacteria leading to over-cleaning and overly hygienic houses where children are no longer exposed to harmless bacteria that strengthen our immune system. Please throw out your antibacterial wipes, cleaners and soaps. They are totally unnecessary and may be causing harm to you and yours.

    Our love of processed foods cannot be healthy and I suspect has a detrimental effect on our immune system and general health. It would not come as a surprise to me if this is a major part of the issue that is not being mentioned because of the power of processed food manufacturers.

    There is also some evidence about the harm vaccines cause to our immune system. There are now 21 recommended vaccines for children carrying highly toxic adjuvents such as aluminium and mercury in them. Many others are also suggested as optional. I wonder how people survived before vaccinations…but that is another story.

    I shall dwell for a moment on the example of wheat as a modern foodstuff. The wheat we consume knowingly and often unwittingly (it is in many things you would not expect) is the product of genetic research from the 1960’s and 70s. It has a protein in it called gliadin. Gliadin is an opiate that stimulates your appetite, making you eat more food. Of course there is also the gluten as well which contributes to many allergies and intolerances. Dr William Davis, a cardiologist describes wheat as a, “Perfect, chronic poison.”

    This wheat was created for one purpose – increased yield which equals increased profits. However, this is at the expense of human health. Our health does not deter many major food manufacturers as long as money can be made.

    If you turn away from wheat and eat real food such as olives, avocado, vegetables and meats you may well find many health problems begin to fade away. Try it.

    If you suspect an allergy or intolerance then check in with an experienced allergy tester, they are out there and can often give you life changing and health improving advice quickly, effectively and for minimal cost to your wallet but maximum benefit to your health.
