What is CBD Oil?
CBD Oil is a non-psychoactive oil extract taken from the Cannabis (or Hemp) plant. CBD stands for Cannabidiol, one of many cannabinoids found in the plant. Although there are many other cannabinoid’s present, our oil is made specifically from Cannabis plants produced for their exceptionally high CBD level and quality.
It is important to point out that Cannabis Oil / CBD Oil is entirely different from “Hemp Oil” you can get in many high street shops. Whilst our oil is extracted from the buds and flowers of the plant – “Hemp Oil” is made by pressing the seeds. Hemp Oil has many fantastic properties, but these are entirely different to CBD Oil.

Yes. All our products are fully legal and you should have no worries at all.
We do advise you to be cautious about who you choose to buy your CBD / Cannabis Oil from. As members of the Cannabis Trade Association, you can be certain we commit to providing only legitimate, lab tested products.

CBD is considered exceptionally safe. Due to us only choosing the highest quality suppliers and always testing our samples at a 3rd party laboratory – we are confident what we offer is safe for consumption.
We do advise if you have never used CBD before to always start small and work your way up. Furthermore, if you are already taking any form of medication – please consult your doctor or healthcare professional beforehand.
Can I take CBD with my medication?
Always consult your doctor or healthcare professional before taking CBD if you are already taking medication. Some studies suggest CBD inhibits the action of cytochrome P450 which is important for removing some medication from your body.
Why do you perform Lab tests?
Our laboratory testing is one of the most important parts of our process. Not only does it verify the quality, consistency and contents of our produce to us – but critically, it does for you too.
That’s why we use laboratories that are specialists in testing Cannabis products using the best methods available. Without this, we wouldn’t be able to be an approved member of the Cannabis Trade Association.
We offer 100% transparency, which is why we display all our laboratory certificates for you to see on our website. If someone is selling Cannabis Oil, CBD or any associated products and can’t provide proof of testing – alarm bells should be ringing.
What is the Entourage Effect?
The “Entourage Effect” describes a process in which all parts of the Cannabis plant work together to increase effectiveness. We believe that removing some of the important compounds lessens the effect on the body, which is why CBD One uses only whole plant extract. There are some CBD oils available which are so heavily refined they lose key elements which we believe make a positive contribution.
A good example to explain this is by looking at a football team. There may be many players in the team who are extremely skilful individually; but when they work with each other as part of a team they are far more effective. No player can win a match on their own and their individual strengths need to complement each other.
The easiest explanation is to say that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This is the Entourage Effect.
What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are the pungent oils that give Cannabis its taste and smell and more than 100 have been identified. They serve the purpose of repelling predators and attracting pollinators. Their ability to add flavour is one factor and the other is the fact that each one brings its own important therapeutic properties. It is believed that each terpene plays a different role in the effect of Cannabis.
Some examples of terpenes:
•Limonene – can elevate mood
•Caryophyllene – can help protect the gastrointestinal tract
•Myrcene – can aid sleep
Can I vape CBD products?
At CBD One we are not wholly convinced by the vaping phenomenon. The idea of inhaling vegetable glycerine does not sit easy with us. If you wish to inhale we suggest you try our Absorb range with a nebuliser. Mix 9 grams of sea salt or Himalayan pink salt with one litre of water. Bring to a boil and continue to boil for ten minutes. Allow to completely cool. Add one dose of Absorb Ultra+ or Pure+ to 10ml of salt water and you are ready to go. You can add two pumps if you wish but we find one pump is normally sufficient.
Can I get CBD on prescription in the UK?
CBD oil is not currently available on prescription in the UK. In fact, given the current political landscape, it is unlikely to become available on the NHS in the near future.
Are there side effects of CBD hemp?
Side effects are extremely rare and relatively benign. Taking too much CBD too quickly may make you feel a little tired or give you loose bowels. If this happens take a little less for a while to allow your body to get used to the CBD. Some people have reported mildly feeling thirsty or having a dry mouth.
How do I use CBD hemp?
CBD is taken orally. The Signature Blend oils are placed under the tongue using a dropper, held there for a minute or more then swallowed. Our Absorb products are simply swallowed or can be added to a hot or cold drink. They can also be inhaled using a saline solution and a nebuliser.
Is CBD oil safe to use during pregnancy?
Whilst many people have or do take cannabinoids during pregnancy we advise that to be on the safe side you do not take CBD whilst pregnant.
